Clint Lewis is executive vice president and president of International Operations at Zoetis. In this role, he oversees the management of the livestock and companion animal business markets outside the United States.
Mr. Lewis previously served as president, U.S. Operations at Zoetis and in the Pfizer Animal Health organization. He joined Pfizer Animal Health in 2007.

Clint Lewis is executive vice president and president of International Operations at Zoetis. In this role, he oversees the management of the livestock and companion animal business markets outside the United States.
Mr. Lewis previously served as president, U.S. Operations at Zoetis and in the Pfizer Animal Health organization. He joined Pfizer Animal Health in 2007.

Mr. Lewis joined Pfizer in 1988 as a sales representative in Long Island, N.Y., and has held positions of increasing responsibility in several areas across various commercial operations dedicated to human health prior to joining animal health, including vice president and general manager of Pfizer’s U.S. Anti-Infectives/HIV business unit.

In 2011, Mr. Lewis was elected chairman of the Animal Health Institute (AHI) for the 2011-12 term. A member of AHI since 2007, Mr. Lewis previously served as AHI vice chair for the 2009-2010 term. AHI is the trade association for the animal health industry in the U.S. advocating on various issues important to the industry, including efficient and effective regulatory and approval processes by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Mr. Lewis holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Fairfield University and a Master of Business Administration in marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

He is a veterinarian and holds a PhD degree from the University of Tokyo, research experiences in veterinary biochemistry, bacteriology and regulatory science. Before joining JMAFF, he has been teaching biochemistry and physiology at University of Tokyo and Tottori University as an associate professor.

Since 1986 to 1996, Dr. Koji Oishi spent many years in the MAFF’s head office and the NVAL, being engaged in both administrative and laboratory work in evaluation of the veterinary pharmaceuticals and biologicals. Prior to joining the OIE, she served for China Animal Disease Control Center for several years as assistant professor, focusing on animal diseases laboratory diagnosis as well as laboratory quality management. From 2013-2015, she was seconded to Veterinary Bureau, Ministry of Agriculture, P.R. China, where she gained knowledge on disease control and emerging disease preparedness.

She graduated as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from China Agriculture University, Beijing Key Laboratory of Detection Technology for Animal-Derived Food Safety.

Erwin Blomsma holds a Master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering and a Ph.D. in Applied Biological Sciences (1995) from KU Leuven in Belgium.  After post-doctoral studies at UCB he started his career at Janssen Pharmaceutica in 1996 with a focus on assessing and implementing new technologies.  In 2000, he co-founded Crystallics, a spin-off from the University of Leiden (NL) specializing in preformulation research.  Crystallics was absorbed by Avantium Technologies in 2001, and he was appointed Chief Operating Officer there in 2004, playing a key role in making the company cash-positive.  In 2007, Dr Blomsma joined Dr Stefaan Wera and Professor Johan Neyts as co-founder and CEO of Okapi Sciences and after a series A of 8.5 million EUR end of 2008 the team developed a pipeline of 7 products (2 in pivotal clinical trials) and signed a license deal with Novartis Animal Health in 2013. Okapi Sciences was then acquired by Aratana Therapeutics for 44 million USD in January 2014.  From the acquisition to August 2015 he was the General Manager of Aratana Therapeutics NV in Belgium and Vice President of Aratana Therapeutics, Inc.  In 2015, Erwin Blomsma co-founded ViroVet. In 2016 ViroVet raised 5 million USD in a series A financing round. Erwin Blomsma is CEO at ViroVet and also the current Chairman of FlandersBio, a cluster organization representing over 350 life sciences companies in Flanders, Belgium.

Dr Tomoyoshi Yoshinaga is a professor of the Department of Aquatic Bioscience at the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the University of Tokyo. After receiving his PhD degree from that university in 1987, he entered the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as a researcher, where he worked at the National Research Institute of Fisheries Science and the National Research Institute of Aquaculture. He returned to the University of Tokyo in 2002 as a professor after his fifteen-year career at the ministry. Dr Yoshinaga is still a member of several committees on fish health and animal drugs in the ministry. He has been serving as the president of the Japanese Society of Fish Pathology since 1 April 2019. He has studied mainly fish and shellfish parasites and, for the last ten years, has expanded his interest and activity in the field of biosecurity of aquatic animals.

I do a part-time lecturer to students about clinical ethics of clinical veterinarians, current situation and problems of animal hospitals, and surgical diseases in Kitasato University, Iwate University, Miyazaki University and Gifu University.

Also I lecture about “general surgery” and “about management of animal hospital” once or twice a year in overseas such as Taiwan, Korea, China and Thailand.

Dr. Kenichi Masuda is CEO of Animal Allergy Clinical Laboratories, Inc., established as a RIKEN venture company since 2007. He graduated from Kagoshima University, 1992, and then has engaged in small animal practice as a veterinarian for 3 years. He took a master’s degree major in veterinary medicine from The University of Illinois, 1997, and a Ph.D. degree major in veterinary science from The University of Tokyo, 2003. He used to be a member of International Task Force on Canine Atopic Dermatitis, 2004-2010, and International Committee on Allergic Diseases of Animals, 2010-2019. He is one of leading researchers on allergic diseases in dogs and cats.
